Disaster Risk Reduction

Disaster Risk Management (DRM) activities, ADO conducted comprehensive need assessments and surveys in various disaster-prone districts across Pakistan. Utilizing a model village approach, ADO integrated multiple thematic areas including WASH, Livelihoods, Shelter, and Education to address the holistic needs of communities. Central to these efforts was the active engagement of both government entities and local communities in DRM planning processes. Pre- and post-evaluations were regularly conducted to gauge the effectiveness of interventions, while awareness sessions were organized to enhance community resilience and preparedness. ADO also leveraged its ongoing development efforts to promote green energy and solarization initiatives, introducing climate-resilient housing structures to mitigate disaster risks. Furthermore, as a member of the SHRRP and other like-minded forums, ADO has made significant contributions towards enhancing disaster preparedness and response in the region.
