Aawaz Voice and Accountability Program

The AAWAZ program strengthens democratic processes from the grassroots. Consortium A partners deliver three outputs in their districts to maximize integration. At the provincial level, they form coalitions for advocacy on grassroots issues requiring higher-level attention.

Program Outputs:

  • Output 1: Women’s safe participation in political and public spheres
  • Output 2: Peaceful resolution of disputes and common solutions
  • Output 3: Capacity building for citizens to voice demands and hold the government accountable
  • Output 4: Improved evidence for advocacy to political leaders

Activities support structures at village, union council, tehsil, and district levels, using well-trained CBOs or POs.

The AAWAZ Forum tiers:

  • Village/town/settlement level: AAWAZ Forum
  • Union council level: AAWAZ UC Forum
  • Tehsil level: AAWAZ Tehsil Forum
  • District level: AAWAZ District Forum

AAWAZ Forum Composition and Functions
